John H. Williamson,, 72


John H. Williamson, 72, of Rochdale, MA died June 5, 2011 after a long courageous battle with ALS and prostrate cancer. Herbie is survived by his wife, Gail (Estabrook) Williamson and his sister Christine (Williamson) Nichols of Princeton, MA. Herbie was predeceased by his parents John F. and Beatrice (MacDonald) Williamson.

Herbie was a lifetime resident of Rochdale and graduated from Leicester High School and Salve Regina College's two year program, Rhode Island. He was the Town Clerk of Leicester from 1972 until he retired in 1996 due to illness from ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). The family would like to thank the VNA Hospice of Worcester, nurses Holly and Chris; his caregiver of 8 years, Donna Edwards-Whalen as well as Guy Nagassa, Kim Pontbriend, Doreen Bealand and special friends, Nickole Edwards and son Armando Seaz, III.

A gathering will be held at the Greenville Baptist Church, Rochdale, MA on Saturday June 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Please omit flowers. Donations may be made to the ALS Foundation, c/o Mary Leeman, Westborough, MA. Herbie’s remains were left to the Anatomical Gift program at Umass Medical School.
