- These are the steps and scenarios that the team will be covering:
Scenario Setting:
Consider/conceptualize a team that consists of at least three people. The team can be one that you are leading now or a hypothetical one of your own design/are likely to lead someday.
Consider and describe a project that they are working on.
Consider the roles (job descriptions) you have for each team member.
In your documentation (written, audio, video or other) for this assignment, identify what you think the ideal personality profiles would be for each role and explain the basis for your assessment
Team Analysis:
Describe the team members that you actually have and describe their profiles. Because it usually plays this way, give two of the team members profiles that are not ideal to the role or a match to you.
Within the context of their roles, document what are the specific strengths that they bring and further document how you as a leader will specifically shore up their blind spots
Leader Analysis:
Identify your behavioral tendency profile and assume that you are leading this team.
Because of your makeup, what are your behavioral strengths in terms of the project and the individuals who make up the team?
Describe how you will bridge communication and interaction differences with team members who possess dissimilar profiles
Interaction:
Identify a leadership moment for each of the team members.
This moment can be goal setting, performance feedback, conflict resolution, setting expectations, situation planning or some other relevant conversation.
Game-plan the interaction using the behavioral profiles of those involved and your behavioral preferences.
CONDUCT THE INTERACTION to the best of your ability using what you have learned about behavioral motivators/tendencies.
This may require seeking out participants (let me know if this is a challenge).
Document the interaction via audio, video or write up
Post-mortem: Conduct a post analysis of the interaction. Consider and analysis what worked, what didn't and what you would try next time. Like the prior documentation, this can be done via audio, video or write up
