Patrick Motors, a car dealership, was recently the target of auto theft.

According to Shrewsbury Police Lt./Det. Daniel Sklut, on June 13, Joshua O. Green, 22, of Madison Street, Worcester was arrested by Spencer Police, after a pursuit that ended in Leicester, for allegedly stealing three vehicles from Patrick Motors.

Currently, police are still looking to arrest William J. Ebersold, 31, of Austin Street, Worcester for the alleged car thefts. Ebersold is described as a white male, 5 feet 11 inches and 180 pounds.

Green and Ebersold went to Patrick Motors and allegedly stole keys to vehicles in the lot. They later returned after the store closed and stole the vehicles that they had been looking at earlier in the day.

"Warrants were obtained for the arrest of Ebersold and Green for numerous charges including several counts of larceny of a motor vehicle and breaking and entering.ÊPolice believe that Ebersold will be looking to steal additional vehicles to replace the ones that were returned to their owners," according to a Shrewsbury Police press release.Ê

According to the Shrewsbury police log, at 5:36 p.m., June 5, the owner of Patrick Motors noticed that a Cadillac CTS was missing from his lot.

The Cadillac had OnStar, a tracking device, which traced the vehicle to 50 Mill St., Worcester, where Worcester Police were able to locate it.

At 7:20 a.m., June 6, the owner of Patrick Motors called police again in regard to a chain fence being cut at the business during the night

On June 9 at 7:06 a.m., a vehicle from Patrick Motors was found with no tires on it. Also, on the same day at 4:46 p.m., a black Subaru Tribeca was reported stolen from the car lot.

"All of the stolen cars from Patrick Motors have been recovered," Sklut said.

After further investigation, the black Subaru Tribeca was recovered on June 10 and a Subaru Forester was recovered on June 12 on Austin Street, Worcester.Ê

A Ford F350, stolen from Herb Chambers, Westboro and a motorcycle belonging to a "private party in Leicester" was also recovered at the same location.

According to Patrick Motors' General Manager Matthew Patrick, he has "no idea" why his business was targeted, but that they "will heavily up security" at the business due to the recent thefts.

Patrick Motors didn't have security cameras before, but they will now, Patrick explained.

According to Patrick, except for the damaged chain link fence, there wasn't extensive damage done to the property.

Patrick Motors, which is off Route 9 in Shrewsbury, has been a family-run business for three generations.
